Objective: To phenotypically and molecularly characterize identify the causal agent of onion (Allium cepaL.) bulb rot in Morelos, Mexico.Methodology: Fluorescent bacteria from tissue with symptoms were isolated; LOPATtest was used to describe them subsequently they identified by partial 16S rRNA gene amplification.Pathogenicity vegetables plants evaluated injecting a suspension 108 CFU mL-1of pathogen.Results: Phenotypic characterization nucleotide sequencing showed 100% identity withPseudomonas viridiflava as rot.
