چکیده

Objective: To phenotypically and molecularly characterize identify the causal agent of onion (Allium cepaL.) bulb rot in Morelos, Mexico.Methodology: Fluorescent bacteria from tissue with symptoms were isolated; LOPATtest was used to describe them subsequently they identified by partial 16S rRNA gene amplification.Pathogenicity vegetables plants evaluated injecting a suspension 108 CFU mL-1of pathogen. Results: Phenotypic characterization nucleotide sequencing showed 100% identity withPseudomonas viridiflava as rot. The pathogen caused infection broccoli (Brassica oleracea L.), spring fistulosum purple cepa cauliflower var. botrytis leek porrum carrot (Daucus carota well plant species such jalapeño pepper (Capsicum annuum bean (Phaseolus vulgaris tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.).Implications: This information is important for agriculture Mexico. Identification of a glutathione S-transferase inhibitor in onion bulb (Allium cepa L.)

A glutathione S-transferase (GST, EC 2.5.1.18) inhibitor was isolated from the onion bulb by fractionation and purification using Sep-pak Vac C18 column, TLC and HPLC. Five partially purified onion bulb GSTs (GSTa and GSTb as minor GSTs, and GSTc, GSTd and GSTe as dominant GSTs) separated by DEAE column were used to detect the inhibitory substance in onion bulb extract. Among the three fraction...

Transcriptome Analysis of Sucrose Metabolism during Bulb Swelling and Development in Onion (Allium cepa L.)

Allium cepa L. is a widely cultivated and economically significant vegetable crop worldwide, with beneficial dietary and health-related properties, but its sucrose metabolism is still poorly understood. To analyze sucrose metabolism during bulb swelling, and the development of sweet taste in onion, a global transcriptome profile of onion bulbs was undertaken at three different developmental sta...

De Novo Transcriptome Analysis of Allium cepa L. (Onion) Bulb to Identify Allergens and Epitopes

Allium cepa (onion) is a diploid plant with one of the largest nuclear genomes among all diploids. Onion is an example of an under-researched crop which has a complex heterozygous genome. There are no allergenic proteins and genomic data available for onions. This study was conducted to establish a transcriptome catalogue of onion bulb that will enable us to study onion related genes involved i...

Effect of sulphur application in onion (Allium cepa L.)

An experiment was conducted to study the effect of sulphur application on growth, yield and quality of onion at Horticulture Farm of Institute of Agriculture, Visva-Bharati, Sriniketan. The treatments consisted of six incremental doses of sulphur application (10, 20, 30, 40, 50 and 60 kg ha-1) and no sulphur application (control, 0 kg S ha-1). Treatments were arranged in Randomized Block Design...

NUTRIENT DIAGNOSIS ( CND ) OF ONION ( Allium cepa L . )

Nutritional constraints often restrict yields of crops in farmers’ fields. Plant nutrient status is currently diagnosed using empirically derived nutrient norms from arbitrarily defined high and low yielding subpopulations above a quantitative yield target. Generic models can assist Compositional Nutrient Diagnosis (CND) in providing a yield cutoff value between high-and lowyielding subpopulati...
